Today in Golf – Phil Mickelson Stirs Up Twitter, Unlikely Leader at Pebble Beach and more

Hank Leboida the Early Leader at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Hoping to add another accolade to his PGA TOUR resume, Lebioda got off to a strong start with six birdies in an eight-hole stretch Thursday at the Shore course of Monterey Peninsula, finishing with an 8-under 63 and leading by one stroke after the inaugural round.

The day was mostly sunny, with few winds, and he had the slight advantage of finishing before gusts became strong enough to make flagsticks bend and hats fly away when players tried to putt.

” This would be eight courses in three weeks for us,” said Lebioda, who missed the cut at his last two tour events.

Jordan Spieth Talks Netflix Documentary

Jordan Spieth said his involvement with “Full Swing” was partially due to being inspired by the success of “Formula 1: Drive to Survive,” a docuseries that premiered on Netflix in 2019 and was met with great acclaim.

“I had a blast. I gave access in places I don’t normally and shared a lot of it with Justin (Thomas),” said Spieth. “We really, really enjoyed that process.”
