LIV Golf Team Championship Results: 4 Aces GC Wins Final Event of the Season

The inaugural season of LIV Golf reached its finale on Saturday in Miami. And what an eventful and controversial season it was.

The tournament took place at Trump National Doral’s “Blue Monster.” Which hosted a PGA Tour event annually from 1962 until 2016.

The 4 Aces Golf Club claimed the 2022 LIV golf team championship title. With the help of their captain Dustin Johnson, they were able to fend off Cameron Smith’s Punch GC.

After narrowly making it through the first round of singles matches in the team championship, the highest-scoring team from the regular season used a well-balanced approach in order to accumulate a score of 7-under. This total was enough for us to pass Punch GC by one stroke.

Despite the fact that the team championship was becoming a two-team contest, there were still plenty of important events happening late in the afternoon. The marquee pairing of Johnson and Smith produced some dramatic golf as the Champion Golfer Of The Year finished the round with a 7-under par 65, and Johnson fired off a 2-under 70 to take the lead.

While the two captains for their respective sides were the last pair out on the golf course, it was the players’ team members who decided the outcome of the match. Matt Jones, Marc Leishman, and Wade Ormsby collectively shot over par, while DJs held their own.

Perez was their biggest wildcard entering the tournament, but he played well enough to help the team win four matches.

The 4 Aces GC has now won five times in their first year together.4 Aces won every event held in the United States, and their ultimate win at Trump National Doral came with a $16 million paycheck ($4 million per golfer).

Johnson’s on-course earnings add up to roughly $35 million for the LIV Golf season.
